Happy New Year, and welcome to the first Buzz of 2026! Between Lunar New Year celebrations and BedWars blasting off into space, things have been anything but quiet at The Hive. Here's everything you missed since our last issue!
Lunar New Year 🐴
It's time to ring in the Lunar New Year! The Year of the Horse is here, and The Hive is marking the occasion in style!
Scattered across the special Lunar New Year hub are twelve hidden banners, one for each animal in the Chinese Zodiac. Hunt them all down, and you'll earn yourself an exclusive costume to commemorate the celebrations.
As always, to wrap up this year's festivities, stunning lanterns will illuminate the sky. Join us on March 3rd to see the night sky adorned with familiar characters.

Season of Giving 🐋
Over the holiday season, we teamed up with Seattle Children's to raise money for their amazing Child Life Fund, and we are so proud to share that, thanks to the generosity of you, our incredible community, we raised an astounding $17,428!
Child Life specialists do extraordinary work, supporting young patients through difficult hospital stays with play, creativity, music, and compassionate care. Your contributions go directly toward making that possible.
Whether you picked up the Bundle of Hope, took part in a charity auction, or simply spread the word, every contribution made a real difference. From all of us at The Hive, thank you!
Australia and India: Hive Local Zones 🌏
We're always looking for ways to make The Hive experience better for players around the world.
As part of our ongoing network improvements, we're currently trialling two new Local Zones in Mumbai, India and Sydney, Australia. Players in India, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines will connect to The Hive's Asia region via these local zones, and we're hopeful this will lead to noticeably improved latency for those regions!
We'll be keeping a close eye on how things go and will continue to make adjustments as needed. If you're in these areas, be sure to share your feedback!
